Faculty Career Guidance Unit (FAS/CGU)

The Faculty of Applied Sciences’ Career Guidance Unit (FAS/CGU) was established to help FAS undergraduates gain the knowledge, skills, and experience they need to identify options, explore alternatives, and succeed in society. We assist individuals make and implement informed educational and occupational decisions, as well as develop skills in self-awareness, educational and occupational exploration, and career planning, so they can have a successful career as a productive member of society.

FAS/ CGU is located next to the A1 lecture theater and was founded with funds from the AHEAD Project/Faculty of Applied Sciences. It is run in conjunction with the University Career Guidance Unit.

Following activities are carried out under CGU/FAS.

  • Facilitating the young person’s transmission from school to university
  • Counselling and advising careers
  • Employability skills enhancement
  • Career-related information provision
  • Networking with industry
  • Availing work experience
  • Graduate placement
  • Integration of Career Guidance within curricular in the form of instructional modules
  • Entrepreneurship skills development
  • Training, research and development
