Message from the Head of  the Department

Keeping pace with rapid advancements in the computing and information technology education, the Department of Computer Science and Informatics (formerly Department of Computer Science and Technology) of Uva Wellassa University has firmly established its footing as a force to reckon in the Sri Lankan university system. The Department offers two unique degree programmes – Computer Science and Technology, and Industrial Information Technology – which are regularly updated to align with international standards and accreditation criteria of ACME and IEEE. Since its inception in 2006 the Department has been producing forward-looking highly demanded graduates with an astonishing employment rate. The competition for admission is ever-increasing and the Department is engaged in a challenging mission to accommodate the rising demand for its study programmes. Equipped with state-of-the-art computer laboratories, a dynamic academic staff and a range of other auxiliary facilities students enjoy their education in a soothing atmosphere. Strong links with the industry have assured the students of the experiences in the world of work with abundant employment prospects.
